The Lisbon Lions who won
the European Cup at the Estadio Nacional in Lisbon, Portugal on May
25th 1967 by defeating Inter Milan 2 - 1
With all the members of the team being born within 30 miles of Glasgow
this make Glasgow Celtic the only team in European football history
to have won the European Cup with a team comprised entirely of home
grown talent.
Celtic were the first British and Northern European club to win the
European Cup and are still the only Scottish club ever to have reached
the final, reaching the final again in 1970, Hail Hail.
